This is heartbreaking. I only discovered you guys last week. I heard "Corporeal" and was blown away. Perhaps it was on kcrw, or just some bar in Silverlake. But that same week I heard Mount Kimbie's "You Look Certain". Now I'm thinking it would be a good time to put everything you have out there, perhaps even with their (objective) help, or how about with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala?
I have no affiliations, and these are not well-informed recommendations, but still...
"The Grief Recovery Method" offers many alternatives to the Kubler-Ross five stage model. I just happened to discover it the same week, and I realized I should probably work through some residual bitterness from a loss THIRTY years ago. The point is to get some ideas and insights and find what works. One useful distinction was that almost every survivor starts by thinking about what they themselves did wrong in the relationship.
Today, I'm celebrating Trish Keenan's life and buying everything you guys did, but they will have to be downloadable. I think I watched all the online videos last night, (are there really only 10 or 12?) and the synths were somehow warmer on the live/bootlegs. Maybe someday everything will get remastered for those formats too!?
Again, I'm not well-informed, but Patreon might be the best crowd funding route for this kind of stuff.
For a demo, this recording sounds completely realized. It takes the listener to that spinning, tangible/intangible place that Trish was so good at taking us to. Thank you so much for sharing this today. She's terribly missed.
Dear James, I was properly proud and pleased to write this article about Broadcast (the starting point being a gig you did at Koko 2005). It’s in Italian but the video is half Italian/half English. I was lucky enough to see Broadcast at Islington Academy/Koko and Bush Hall. Gigs that will stay with me forever. https://www.talassamagazine.com/talassa/bremain-broadcast-come-on-let-s-go
Found this today, was listening on youtube saw Broadcast in Camden when I was young the performance has stayed with me, even though I seem to forget lots of other stuff. So glad I listened again. Sad singer is gone so young.
